A sausage production workshop has been opened in the women’s colony.

A sausage production workshop has been opened in the women’s colony of the Department of the Penal Correction System. Currently, more than 200 women are serving their sentences in the institution, of whom over 100 have already been provided with permanent jobs. The opening of the new workshop has made it possible to employ more than ten convicts, and in the near future it is planned to create ten more jobs.

              Today, the workshop produces about ten types of beef and horse meat sausages. The products are regularly delivered to the shops of the Zharminsky district and nearby settlements. In the future, it is planned to increase production volumes and establish sales throughout the region.

               – I have been developing a sausage business at home for three years now. My dream was to open a full-fledged workshop, expand production and train others in my business, helping them earn money. I am sincerely glad that this dream has come true. Here, women will be able not only to work, but also to get a profession that will be useful to them after their release,” the entrepreneur shared.

                During the opening of the workshop, the entrepreneur familiarized the convicts in detail with the technology and recipe of production, as well as conducted practical exercises. The women tried their hand at a new business for the first time and made about 50 sausages in a short time, demonstrating high learning ability and responsibility.

The workshop also has a smokehouse capable of processing more than 25 kilograms of products in one cycle. When fully loaded, the equipment can produce up to 70-75 kilograms of sausage products per day.

              – Our main task is to promote the re—socialization of convicted women and the development of their work skills. Such entrepreneurial initiatives are not just jobs, but a real opportunity to get a new profession and prepare for life in freedom. We support this project and are glad that we are jointly implementing an effective partnership,” said the head of the institution, Ualikhan Zhumashev.
